International architecture and engineering consulting firm, Dewan Architects + Engineers has revealed its plans to expand its operations in Saudi Arabia with new and extended offices in Riyadh. Currently, Dewan operates in seven countries across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, specialising in mixed-use, hospitality, residential, commercial, education, retail, and urban planning. Dewan has contributed to significant projects in the UAE including The Address Fountain Views and Port de La Mer in Dubai, and Mamsha Al Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi.
Speaking with Construction Week, Ammar Al Assam, Chief Executive Officer at Dewan Architects + Engineers said: "In general, our scope of work on the gigaprojects ranges from being lead architects or designers on some projects through to lead executive architects and engineers on others. In addition to our work with The Red Sea Development Company, AMAALA, and Qiddiya, we are working on two large lifestyle retail and mixed-use projects in Jeddah and Riyadh. We have also recently been awarded two innovative urban downtown master planning projects for two different cities in the Kingdom."
Furthermore, the firm is working alongside Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA); Gulf Real Estate and Kaden Developments, in Saudi Arabia, Al Assam has revealed. With the new offices set to open in July 2021, the company's KSA expansion aims to address the capacity needs for the booming construction market fueled by HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud’s Saudi Vision 2030.
